Blog Update!!!

Lushes Brown Thoughts will no longer be updated here. I have finally decided to follow my heart and change my Blog name.

All new blog posts will be posted at SoFrolushes.com. I have owned this domain forever and wanted to use it. So to make my life easier Lushes Brown Thoughts and SoFrolushes Hair Chronicles will merge into one blog SoFrolushes. I have moved over all the blog posts to the new blog so everything is all one place.

My Faithandi blog and That Sweet Sugar Dumpling blogs will remain as they are.

There are still some technical stuff to fix but I hope you will join me over there as I continue my blogging journey.

My contacts remain the same for now.

Sir Mix-A-Lot with the Seattle Symphony

So what happens when you mix the HipHop classic and ode "Baby Got Back" with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra? This rendition was composed by Gabriel Prokofiev. Sir Mix-A-Lot invites some ladies on stage and wow they really go for the bum shaking full on. Aside from that these lovers of classic music that seamlessly merges with modern classics know every single word.

People will call this art and great and fabulous. I just hope the same is said when this song is played within it original form too. It was nice and interesting to see this mix of musical madness.

Azealia Banks Passion Shines in Interview

Rapper Azealia Banks appeared on HOT 97 recently. The caption of the video says she goes off on TI and Iggy. However when you watch the video and listen to what she has to say, you realise that at 23 years old she already knows how this music business is working. She has an understanding of the media and how it frames "Black" culture away from the very people who produced it. I love the fact that in this interview she remained transparent and unafraid to speak up for what she believes in. Those who do not understand what she is saying will respond negatively. Whilst everyone else will be saying finally a person who is unafraid to say it how it is. Banks is definitely not an "angry" Black woman. She is a lady who is clued up on what happens to Black people, the culture, the music, the perceptions etc and is very passionate about it. A creative soul, who deserves to be heard.

Diamond Dolls Beauty New Salon Launch Event

I recently attended the launch event for Diamond Dolls Beauty Salon in Derby. I tried to vlog a little but ended up taking pictures most of the time. The launch event was fun even though I did not win any prizes from the raffle. Prosecco, Shloer and cupcakes were on offer throughout the day. It was a nice turn out with many people taking advantage of the launch discounts.

Diamond Dolls Beauty is owned by Dee McIntosh. It started out as a home based salon catering to the various needs of customers. Dee qualified as a Beauty Therapist a few years ago and has never looked back. She quickly established herself as the go to person for amazing Nail art and designs. Her attention to detail shows in her work. This also lead to her gaining advanced hair qualifications allowing her to give clients a complete transformation.

With the salon's new location, Dee is joined by Nathan who specialises in European haircare whilst Dee does both Afro and European hair. She also is a qualified Hi Brow technician. Diamond Dolls offers various Hair, Nails and Beauty treatments and is located in Derby. I look forward to seeing this business continue to grow.

Mother Fagan Needs Help!

I've come across this video on my FB timeline. It shows an old lady about 83 years old on her way home after gathering fire wood so that she could cook some fritters. She has run out of gas electric and her home is in disrepair. When it rains the house gets wet inside as the roof collapsed and there are no funds to fix it. She is ill and so is her husband. St Matthew and his wife Natalia see her in the street and give her some money to assist. Mother Fagan says she knows it was God who sent them and thanks God for the help. Upon further discussion they learn her situation is in need of further help and he promises to provide some basic things for her. If you can help contact St Matthew for more information.
